Kindergarten Homework Dec. 8-12, 2014
Do the assignment in your homework notebook. Write the date on each homework page.
If your child was absent from school, turn in an excuse letter on the day of your child’s return to school. Please be reminded that a doctor’s certificate is required for 3 consecutive days of absence.

Monday – December 8
Point to the words as you read the poem to your child. Then, have your child point to the words as you read together. Complete and check off 2 activities from “Looking at Words and Letters.” Do NOT do all the sections in one night. We want to expose your child to this poem several times this week for fluency practice.
In the homework notebook, let your child copy the sentence: We are in the room. Have your child read it to you. Ask your child to write 2 other sentences that use the stem: We are in the _____. Have your child read each sentence to you, and frame the word “are” (using pointer fingers).
Tuesday – December 9
Point to the words as you read the poem to your child. Then, have your child point to the words as you read together. Complete and check off 2 activities from “Playing with Sounds.” Do NOT do all the sections in one night. We want to expose your child to this poem several times this week for fluency practice.
Math Review: Look for objects around the house that are shaped like cylinders (no need to record).

Wednesday – December 10 (Early Dismissal- 11:55am)
Point to the words as you read the poem to your child. Then, have your child point to the words as you read together. Complete and check off 2 activities from “Beginning to Read.”
Listen to your child count to 50.
Do Math worksheet.
Thursday- December 11
Practice writing Cc (uppercase and lowercase) in your notebook. Then, cut out 3 pictures of objects that begin with hard c sound- /k/ as in cat. You may use magazines, newspapers, flyers, or your child may just draw the objects. Help your child label the pictures.
Friday – December 12
Read a book to or with your child. Talk about the title of the book, the author and the illustrator. As you look at the cover, ask your child to predict what the book is going to be about. After reading the book, ask your child. Who were the characters in the story? Where was the setting of the story? Have your child retell the story. Ask your child to choose a page and frame (2 pointer fingers are used for framing) one letter, two letters, one word, then, two words. Frame a capital letter. (THERE IS NO NEED TO RECORD THIS HOMEWORK)
Record books read on the reading log. OUR GOAL IS TO READ AT LEAST 20 BOOKS FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER!

Si su hijo estuviera ausente de la escuela, vuelta en una carta de excusa en el día de su hijo de regreso a la escuela. Por favor recuerde que un certificado médico se requiere durante 3 días consecutivos de ausencia.

Señalar las palabras al leer el poema a su hijo. Luego, haga que su hijo señalar las palabras al leer juntos. Completa y cheque 2 actividades “Looking at Words and Letters.” No hacer todas las secciones en una noche. Queremos exponer a su hijo / a este poema varias veces esta semana para la práctica de fluidez.
En el cuaderno de deberes, deje que el niño copia la frase: We are in the room. Haga que su hijo lea. Pídale a su niño a escribir 2 otras sentencias que utilizan el tallo: We are in the ____. Que su hijo lea cada frase y enmarcar la palabra "are" (utilizando los dedos puntero).

Practicar la escritura Cc (mayúscula y minúscula) en tu cuaderno. Entonces, cortó 3 fotografías de objetos que comienzan con duro c sonido-/ k / como en “cat.” Puede utilizar revistas, periódicos, folletos, o su niño puede dibujar los objetos. Ayude a su niño a etiquetar las fotos.
Viernes – 12 de diciembre
Leer un libro o con su hijo. Hablar sobre el título del libro, el autor y el ilustrador. Como te ves en la cubierta, pídale a su niño a predecir lo que va a ser sobre el libro. Después de leer el libro, pídale a su niño.Quiénes eran los personajes de la historia? ¿Dónde estaba el escenario de la historia? Que su niño contar la historia. Pídale a su hijo a elegir una página y marco (puntero 2 dedos se utilizan para enmarcar) una carta, dos cartas, una palabra, entonces, dos palabras. Marco una letra mayúscula. (NO HAY NECESIDAD DE REGISTRAR ESTA TAREA)
