Part A: Read Alicia’s report to her class about her neighborhood. Use the graphic organizer to help you make sense of what you read.
Hola, me llamo Alicia. Yo vivo en California, pero yo nací en Tejas. Tejas es mi hogar. Mis memorias de Tejas son muy especiales. Sin embargo, me gusta mi vecindario aquí en California. Es un vecindario nuevo y pequeño. Hay muchos árboles y hay un parque donde los niños juegan. Mi casa está cerca del vecindario de mi amiga, Alicia. Porque no hay mucha distancia, yo camino a su casa muchos días de la semana. También cerca de mi vecindario está el supermercado, Walmart®. Menos mal que vivo en un vecindario seguro.
Mi familia vive lejos de la escuela, pero no es un problema porque mi hermano y yo tomamos el autobús a la escuela. Yo tomo el autobús a las seis de la mañana. Estamos en el autobús una hora. Aunque es la mañana, los estudiantes en el autobús son muy ruidosos y yo no puedo dormir ni escuchar música. También es peligroso porque es posible tener un accidente muy serio. También mi familia vive muy lejos de Six Flags®. ¡Qué lástima! Me gusta ir a Six Flags® pero estamos en el carro dos horas. No me gusta estar en el carro con mi familia por dos horas porque es muy horrible.

Part of your visit with your sister Kathi was visiting all of her other friends at that same school. Not everyone was as fortunate at Kathi and Amy—some of her friends had a quad room in the dorm: 4 people in one room!!
